Jesus as a young boy lingered in Jerusalem after the Feast of the Passover and his parents found Him after three days in the temple. Jesus says in Luke 2:49, Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business? “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own Will, but the Will of Him who sent Me. This is the Will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the Will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:38-40).” It sound so simple right? God wants us to believe in His Son and if you do, you will have everlasting life. The Will of God can be seen through out the Bible. It is not being hidden at all and the one’s who really believe will obey and see his truth. John 7:17, If anyone wills to do His Will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. When we search earnestly for God, we can tell when someone is speaking the True Will and Doctrine of Christ. The Spirit will guide us and show us the truth.
As Christians we must know the Will of our Heavenly Father! God’s Will is His Will. “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Your Will be done (Matthew 6:9-10).” Even in the Lord’s Prayer Jesus mentions the Will of his Father to be done. “If the Lord Wills we shall live and do this or that (Jame 4:15).” God only wills good things in our lives. Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. I don’t care if you are the richest man in the world, the only one that can give you spiritual peace and eternal life is God! Satan’s peace is an illusion and your soul will suffer for it in the Lake of Fire. “Heaven and Earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away (Matthew 24:35).”
What is a major Will of God? Romans 12:2, And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God. I have mentioned it before, when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and partake in water baptism, you become a new being. Your old self is transformed and you start your relationship with God. “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit (Matthew 3:5-6).” We can not serve Lucifer/World and God.
Many false teachings allow sin to continue and do not preach about repentance. Some believe they will be forgiven for their repeated sins because they believe in God now. The love of God is not a free pass to live a life of sin. Rather it is a new life, building a relationship with your Heavenly Father. Yes we are all sinners, but when you know the truth and continue to do the same sin, God will not forgive you! Hebrews 10:26-27, For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgement and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
We are going to concentrate on the Book of Ephesians Chapter 5, starting at verse 17 and focus on the Will of the lord. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the Will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit. It is telling us to not squander our life or waste your time with alcohol addiction. Liquor stores are deemed essential and now more than ever we see a rise in Alcoholism as the virus forces many people to stay home. In 2018, 14.4 million adults ages 18 and older had Alcohol Use Disorder. Less than 10% of them receive treatment. The government had to deem Liquor stores essential or the hospital would be overwhelmed by people coming in with alcohol withdrawal. It would have burdened an already suffering system. Alcoholism can cause problems at work or school. People engage in dangerous activities like, driving while drunk, blacking out, legal problems, health issues, it breaks up families and is an expensive addiction. People have lost everything because they can not help themselves because of this addiction. Their body craves the alcohol and Lucifer does not give them a way out. But our God is the answer and can break the chains of sin and bondage. Where humans fail, God will prevail.
Verse 20, give thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in Fear of God. The fear of God is lacking in the world today and we can see it all around us. Sin has flourished because the world does not fear God. Churches and Preachers are not speaking up against sin. Proverbs 9:10, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 8:13, The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. Psalms 97:10, You who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the souls of his saints. Exodus 20:20, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin. Are you living in fear of God? Your heart should tremble at even the thought of sin. Now a days many accept and tolerate sin and this is why the world is in turmoil. I Peter 1:17, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear. 2 Corinthians 7:1, Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Fear causes us to not sin and build a loving relationship with our Heavenly Father. Lucifer and the world has no power over us when we fear the Lord and put our trust in him. “The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him (Psalms 103:13).”
Verse 22-33, Wives, submit to your ow husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body….Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself…Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. The roles of husband and wives have changed dramatically. Most households don’t even have both spouses. Genders are even a topic of discussion and perversion is spreading like wildfire. Relationships do not last because God is not part of their foundation. Marriage is being delayed while the world encourages dating apps that promote sexual immorality. Adultery is running rampant and loveless marriages destroy families and relationship with God. As followers of Jesus, both husbands and wives should be building unity, nurture, love and respect in their marriages. Everyone thinks money can bring a happy marriage. Yet the richest man in the world who owns Amazon could not prevent his marriage from failing. If we can not even get our marriage in order how do we expect to do the Will of God.
I Thessalonians 4:3-5, For this is the Will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. This is as simple as it can get, yet millions fall into the trap of pornography and sexual immorality. The allegations of priests molesting children, sexual harassment, the me too movement, child prostitution and even the boy scouts now having allegations. The world is surrounded by sex, filth and hidden sin. Large number of couples live together and are not married. Some even having children first then getting married after, which majority of the time may not end well. The world may accept this new custom but the Bible calls it a sin. The Will of God does not change, even though the times may. We must have self control and our body is the temple of the living God. We can not allow sexual immorality and lust ruin our relationship with God. Verse 7, For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. If our bodies and mind are filthy in the sight of God, His Will can not be in us.
The Will of God is not hidden! It is clearly visible in the Bible and we must only read and mediate on it to understand His Will. John 7:16-18, Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His Will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. He who’s speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the one who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.” This is so apparent in the world now and the ministries that speak only concerning their doctrine and NOT Gods. Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves(Matthew 7:15). Lucifer will use churches more than ever to send the message of the Antichrist. “And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have hear was coming, and is now already in the world (I John 4:3).” If we are around during the Tribulation, the Antichrist will sit in the temple of Jerusalem and declare himself God (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). Life by no means will be easy, especially during the end times. Believers will be persecuted and those who do not take the mark of the Beast will be tortured and killed. We already hear about Christians being persecuted in China and other places in the world. But when we do the Will of God we have nothing to fear. We must continue to do His Will! Luke 6:22-23, Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and case out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven.
Mark 3:35, For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother. We are the Children of the Living God. Our Father’s Will is our Will! John 4:34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the Will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” Our life is to focus on God’s Will and as previously mentioned to Imitate Jesus, who did the Will of His Father. This is the warning Jesus gives, “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the Will of My Father in heaven (Matthew 7:21).” Do not lose Heaven for mere mortal pleasures and break the bonds of sin. God has a paradise prepared for us and to spend eternity with Him. Hebrews 13:20-21, Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting conversant, make you complete in every good work to do His Will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Doing the Will of God will transform your life and you will see the wonderful love of Jesus in all aspects of your daily life.
